OUR DAILY BREAD KEEPS SHRINKING

OUR DAILY BREAD KEEPS SHRINKING

Sometimes we all struggle to make ends meet. You’ve likely experienced the frustration of watching your dollar not go as far as it uses to at the grocery store and the gas pump. Your spending margin shrinks while your stress level grows.

The difference in Haiti is that the margin between “having enough to survive” and “just not making it” is much smaller. Recent riots in populated areas, and roadblocks along trade routes have caused prices to sky-rocket while the buying power of the Haitian dollar plummets.

We just ordered our typical 80 loaves of bread for Children’s Church we get every Sunday. Each week, the kids see us carry in a full sack of bread loaves, but this Sunday, the sack was half-full and the loaves were so tiny we told kids that the big bread had babies. One of the kids said, “It’s like we prayed for our daily bread, but our bread keeps shrinking!” We paid the same price though.

Now Imagine that happening with EVERYTHING you buy! Your shopping cart and your gas tank are half as full as last week, but you spent the same money to get it!

The struggle is real for the mission as well. It’s incredibly hard to pull off the same ministry when prices are double what they were a week ago. We’re left with choosing between meeting fewer needs with the same money or spending more money to meet the same needs.

We need additional funds to care for the same amount of orphans, the same amount of elderly, the same amount of clinic patients, the same amount of moms and babies, and now even more people who are suffering from how much harder daily survival is at the moment. The bottom line is WE NEED YOUR HELP! As one of our faithful partners in ministry, can we count on you to give a little extra where needed most??…which quite frankly is everywhere right now?

Thank you so much for your prayers and Support! We couldn’t do it without you.

“Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life. I am the bread of life. Your ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness, yet they died. But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which anyone may eat and not die” John 6:47-50 47
