When you are dying of hunger, or everything you own was destroyed by a hurricane, it’s hard to think about anything else.
Northwest Haiti Christian Mission has helped Haitians in their moment of deepest need since our beginning. Â At our core is a desire to feed the hungry, heal the sick and help the helpless in Jesus’ name. Â Genuine faith is demonstrated in such ways, and muscular faith can be hard to develop when you are starving.
When natural or political disasters strike in Northwest Haiti, NWHCM responds immediately by finding the hardest-hit areas and assessing the needs. Â Through our ever-growing network of churches, we quickly establish community-wide feeding programs to combat the hunger and malnutrition that inevitably follow. Â We offer medical care to the most needy patients.
When the storms have passed or the dust has settled, NWHCM steps in to provide long-term support in practical ways like rebuilding houses, repairing damaged churches, and providing for orphaned children.
In the weeks after the storms that devastated Haiti in 2008, NWHCM provided 5,000 meals a day, five days a week, in the hardest-hit communities of the Northwest.
As needs arise, NWHCM will create special funds for disaster relief. Â Please consider making a donation to our food relief and ongoing feeding programs by clicking here.
