Northwest Haiti Christian Mission’s clinic building sits at the physical heart of our main campus in Saint-Louis du Nord. Â It is a vital lifeline of medical care for the community and surrounding areas, especially for the poor.
The clinic is a multi-faceted facility that sees hundreds of patients a week. Â Its services include:
General Clinic
NWHCM’s general clinic sees more than 30 patients a day with a dedicated resident physician and three nurses.
Pediatric Clinic
A resident physician and staff nurse see more than 30 children a week in our pediatric clinic, which operates Monday through Friday.
Prenatal Clinic
NWHCM nurses and midwives consult between 20 and 50 prenatal patients a day, providing essential care and prenatal supplements.
Ultrasound
NWHCM’s OB/GYN conducts between 15 and 30 ultrasounds a day for the mission’s prenatal patients.
HIV Testing
Our staff, including a dedicated social worker, provide HIV testing for prenatal patients and referrals for positive cases.
Dressing Change Clinic
Two staff nurses provide dressing changes for more than 10 patients a day, most of whom are recovering from burns, skin infections and ulcers.
Our clinic is open year-round, Monday through Friday, except on some Haitian holidays. Â NWHCM always welcomes volunteers and medical personnel who want to serve in our clinic, both either short-term or long-term.
