Born from the early days when our missionaries dispensed aspirin from their personal medicine cabinets, Northwest Haiti Christian Mission’s lab and pharmacy today are integral parts of our growing medical ministry.

Laboratory

Staffed by three lab techs, NWHCM’s lab performs testing on roughly 30 patients a day.  Routine tests include complete blood counts, urinalysis, and parasite checks.  An HIV program also provides lab testing for HIV and Syphilis on approximately 75 patients a week.

Pharmacy

NWHCM’s three full-time pharmacy staff serve between 50 and 100 patients a day, averaging at least three medications per patient.  Our recently expended pharmacy facility includes a secure storage area for expensive drugs.  All NWHCM patients receive medications free of charge.

Lab testing and pharmaceuticals are highly expensive, so NWHCM always needs donations of both funding and medicine.  Please see our lab/pharmacy needs list for current donation needs.  Or to donate now to our lab/pharmacy fund and provide live-saving care to Haiti, click here.
